Wiring To wire the elevator, I used #14 stranded 2-conductor wire for the 115-volt AC current to the motor and #24 stranded 2-conductor wire for the 12-volt current. I wired a DPDT toggle switch with 12 volts on one side and 115 volts on the other. See fig. 8. I used a 12-volt transformer to light the 14-volt 3mm lamps. The lamps were mounted in 1/8" I.D. brass eyelets from SIG. I soldered wires to the prong fasteners as if they were electrical parts rather than mere stationery store items. |
