The Comfort Keyboard is very special as well. It is split into three separate sections with cables in between, and you can turn them into stilt keyboards as needed. You can remap them, except for the Esc. I used KeyTweak for putting Esc on the stilt. The program is very good at remapping.

If you are touch typing, you don't need remapping, but you'll use all three Comfort Keyboard sections, and you'll make one or both alphabet sections into
stilts, depending on whether or not you plan to switch sides.

If you are a hunt-and-peck typist, you need only the Comfort Keyboard numeric keypad section (but you'll need the other sections for remapping), which you'll make into a
stilt, and one of the keyboards listed to the right.
The Keyboards
The special keyboards which you'll find will help you the most if you type with one hand or have hand mobility issues are Comfort Keyboards and the keyboards listed to the right. We also like LittleFingers keyboards and Zippy slim mini-keyboard wk 610 but they're no longer being made, so get something else from the list to the right. These have smaller keys that require less finger stretching, or closer together keys, or both.

If you have no hand use/mobility issues, just get a normal bigger keyboard, but if you do have issues, use these keyboards to minimize your problems.

If you lie on one side, the
stilt keyboard is a great help. For that you need the Comfort Ergonomic keyboard. Again, if you type with one hand or have hand mobility issues the smaller keyboards at right are best. Just imagine the shoulder and wrist stresses if you have to move hand or wrist or forearm sideways in between letters!

You may also need a
Marble Mouse trackball. This is important if you'll have no room to operate a mouse, so that your only choices are trackballs like Marble Mouse, Touchpads (see list at right), built-in pointing devices (see list at right) and MouseKeys (the keyboard keys move and click the mouse). For a good Microsoft MouseKeys primer, search for MouseKeys at Microsoft.

WHEN YOU GET FRUSTRATED WITH CLEANING ANY TRACKBALL (THAT IS BUILT INTO A KEYBOARD) A LOT, YOU CAN GET ONE OF THE KEYBOARDS TO THE RIGHT WITH A TOUCHPAD, OR JUST ADD A MARBLE MOUSE!  IT IS BY FAR THE BEST ONE WE KNOW.
