We found out after years of experience that TV remotes can be organized and easy to access even if the user cannot sit and must lie on his back for TV and/or eating meals. We got three nicely finished 10" x 10" x 3/4" boards from our garage and screwed them together to achieve the correct height for a remote box we made. The remote box is cardboard and there are three taped-in shelves on which TV remotes are stored. In the photo there is a cardboard box used as a wastebasket and an extra pillow.
One remote is for the DVD player, one for the Blu-Ray player on which we go to NetFlix, one is for the TV itself and it chooses the Inputs, one is for the sound amplifier, one is the Comcast cable box controller, one is for a little TV that sits next to our big main TV, and two are VCR tape remote controllers, although we mostly play VCR tapes from the Comcast remote which is set up to run both a TV and VCR player as well as the cable box itself. The little TV is for avoiding TV ads by using 2 TV screens.
