Leg, Arm, and Back Rests for Side-lying
Leg, Arm, and Back Rests for Side-lying
Get a piece of foam that's 46" by 7" by 10", medium softness, and medium density. Trim all corners with an electric kitchen knife until they feel comfy. Make a soft cloth cover, sew it onto your new bolster, and create a pillow case out of two long pillow cases—adding a Velcro fastener on the open end. Change it occasionally. The bolster is a lot longer than it needs to be, but I expect that you'll also want a bolster for general side-lying-in-bed purposes, and this will be perfect, since you can use it as a leg and arm rest simultaneously. Why make a separate shorter one for computer use?

Leg, Arm, and Back Rests for Side-lying
Side-lying people tend to roll backwards, and they experience stress keeping this from happening—especially if they've got bad backs. But a simple back support tucked behind your back can prevent this. Get a 3-inch by 4-inch by 18-inch piece of soft foam. Use a long-bladed electric kitchen knife if you need to cut this from a bigger piece.
