I find that I like using a Living Earth Crafts portable massage table, specifically model NC1. This model doesn't seem to exist
any more. But on their web site they have many portable models, and all of them
seem to have the same type of adjustable legs, with even better fittings (knobs
instead of the wing nuts ours has).
Even raised to its highest position,
my table doesn't adjust so that a tall person who can't bend at all can
comfortably massage anyone. But that didn't stop me from creating extension legs.
They're
19.75 inches long 2-by-2s with carriage bolts and wing-nuts
at 2.5 inches and 5.5 inches from the end. Of course, the length of the extension
legs you'd add to your table will depend on how tall the would-be massager
is.
The main things to remember are to get strong boards and to make
sure at least two bolts fasten the extension legs to the regular legs.
Incidentally,
when I get a massage I lie on my table with both a foam mattress
and a wedge (tapered) foam mattress under me. They're the same ones I use
for eating and TV watching. (See Mattresses for TV Watching and Eating.)
